Garlic Toasted Chickpeas

Are you looking for a healthy dinner recipe?  Something for you or your hubby to munch on while throwing back a few cold ones?  Garlic toasted chickpeas were made for this.  They would also be good as just a snack, but these can easily take the place of peanuts and are much less expensive than peanuts.

Here are the ingredients you will need (flashback to the spicy roasted cauliflower??)
Next you are going to open the chickpeas and rinse them and drain them.
Then you will take a paper towel and blot the chickpeas dry from water as best you can.
Then you will combine some olive oil in a bowl with the garlic powder and chili pepper (you can use whatever spice you prefer, such as cayenne) I added probably 4 tablespoons of olive oil for one can of beans.

Next you thrown the chickpeas in the mixture and use your hands to coat them in this mixture.

The last thing you do, is put the pretty beans on a baking sheet and baked at 400 degrees for about 50 min or until the beans are crunchy.  I use foil on the baking sheet because it means less to clean up afterward.
After your timer beeps that the beans are toasted, if they are ready you will put them in your mouth and ENJOY! These are also a great snack for kid's lunches.
I will be posting more gameday food for tomorrow, later this afternoon.  Get your chickpea on!
